What is Web Accessibility

Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can use the Web. We can also say, Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the Web, and that they can contribute to the Web. Considering these things our Musical Connections website is developed in such way that it can be accessible by all medium of users.

Key Accessibility Feature of this website

The site contains all basic Accessibility features like skip navigation, linear form of reading, Proper Headings and many more. The most important feature is that we have implemented ARIA attribute in our website which is the best practice and also used ARIA Landmark for various regions like header, navigation, main content, footer. Using ARIA Landmark feature user can easily navigate within web page. JAWS user can use "semicolon" key and NVDA users should use "D" key to navigate with in regions.

JAWS and NVDA

JAWS from Freedom Scientific is one most commonly used screen reader and it is developed for windows; which will efficiently work on windows with Internet Explorer. NVDA is an open source and will efficiently work on Mozilla Firefox. NVDA has greater support towards ARIA attribute.
